Candidness

Everything you want should be yours: the type of work you want; the relationships you need; the social, mental, and aesthetic stimulation that will make you happy and fulfilled; the money you require for the lifestyle that is appropriate to you; and any requirement that you may (or may not) have for achievement or service to others. If you don’t aim for it all, you’ll never get it all. To aim for it requires that you know what you want

Take your shoes off

It’s incredibly fun to fantasize about what may be, but let’s just enjoy what we have while it’s ALL we have.

I think loving you is like poetry in itself

“Well think about it, what does poetry make you feel? Love, desire, hope, happiness, and an understanding of longing. You make me feel all of those things.”

Do not believe in anything simply because you have heard it. Do not believe in anything simply because it is spoken and rumored by many. Do not believe in anything simply because it is found written in your religious books. Do not believe in anything merely on the authority of your teachers and elders. Do not believe in traditions because they have been handed down for many generations. But after observation and analysis, when you find that anything agrees with reason and is conducive to the good and benefit of one and all, then accept it and live up to it.

The pursuit of happiness

I just realized it’s impossible to pursue happiness! Happiness is not a goal, you don’t look for it as if it were a collar button that rolled under the bed.

Happiness is more like a byproduct… a byproduct of busying ourselves with things that make us enthusiastic.

What is it that touches you so?

let’s go on the assumption that we don’t need to rearrange our life to be open to inspiration. This exercise encourages us to simply be alert to what naturally touches us as we go about our days in our life such as it is in its suchness. So…

for me, I love the feel of the sun on my skin, I can close my eyes and and lose myself in it, then every breath is deep and measured, filling my lungs completely.

for others it can be when they take a shower, especially washing their hair, like they are washing away everything; or maybe it’s when they read a book, being completely relaxed, not having to worry about anything, because it doesn’t exist in the book.

whatever touches you, touches you every day, just be aware of it.

Practicing my creativity

It’s really cool when you start looking at things as being “poetic” honestly there are so many details we miss, or rather, I miss.

I’m just trying to be imaginative, and to have ears for all I hear, eyes for all I see, but more importantly, to put my whole heart into it.

As Hans Christian Andersen said “Learn to catch the sunlight as it falls”

It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice.

I have been so impressed by so many people recently, people who I’m sure haven’t the slightest idea that I have been watching them.

I am impressed because they don’t do or say things to be seen as “unique” or “holy” nothing like that, but because in their own hearts, it’s what is right.

It fascinates me how their charm flows out so freely and naturally

Thank you for being an incredible example to me.

People are unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Love them anyway.
If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.
If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.
The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.
Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.
The biggest person with the biggest ideas can be
shot down by the smallest person with the smallest mind.
Think big anyway.
What you spend years building may
be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.
People really need help but may attack if you help them.
Help people anyway.
Give the world the best you have
and you might get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you’ve got anyway.
